LENTEN MIDWEEK SOUP SUPPERS & WORSHIP

These are joint gatherings with St. John | San Juan Episcopal Church and The Lutheran Church of The Good Shepherd as part of the Lenten Pilgrimage 2025

Wednesdays, March 12, 19, & 26, April 2 & 9 at Good Shepherd

5:15 pm — Soup Supper — Soup meal will be served in Crary Hall prior to Worship

6:15 pm — Lenten Evening Prayer — Bless This Night & Holden Evening Prayer liturgies

For the four upcoming Wednesday night Lenten worship services, we will be alternating between Bless This Night (April 2) and Holden Evening Prayer (April 9). Both liturgies were birthed in the community of Holden Village, as gifts to the whole church. Youth will lead a candlelit prayer around the cross ritual in the style of Holden Village. This special dimension of worship will be similar to the closing worship time during the South Sound Youth Activity Nights. Youth are specifically invited to help set up the candles and boxes, introduce the practice to the assembled, and guide people in the practice of praying with candles around the sandbox cross. This essential worship practice is intended to lift up the gifts of emerging youth leaders, supporting them with instruction, care, and encouragement throughout the process.

On March 26, Jordan Kizer, from the Good Shepherd community, will be sharing a reflection during worship.

Soup Cooks and Helpers Needed:

There will be 5 suppers starting on March 12. We will need soup and rolls for each of the suppers. There is a sign-up poster in the entry area of the church. Please sign up to to make soup, bring rolls, or help with set-up and clean-up. We have some wonderful cooks in our congregation, so we are looking forward to tasting even more delicious soup again this year.
